A forced reset trigger (FRT) is a specialized trigger system designed for semi-automatic rifles, such as the AR-15. Unlike standard triggers, FRTs use the firearm’s bolt carrier group and internal spring system to rapidly reset the trigger after each shot — allowing for quicker follow-up shots without converting the rifle to full-auto.

The reset occurs as the bolt cycles back, pushing the trigger forward into a “ready” position. The shooter must still pull the trigger each time, keeping the rifle in compliance with standard semi-auto function.

Key benefits include:

  • Faster shot cycles

  • Crisper reset and trigger break

  • No batteries or electronics

  • Drop-in compatibility with many AR platforms

FRTs are favored by competitive shooters and firearm enthusiasts looking for faster response times and tighter shot groupings.
